Claude Bates:

Episode two Baby Bump Buddies. Welcome.

Claude Bates:

This is Instructions Not Included. I am your host, Claude, and this is episode two Baby Bump Buddies. Building a bond with your baby before birth. I just want to thank y'all for joining me. I know if you were here for episode one, you're probably going to hear some of the things that you heard in episode one in episode two, just because it all ties in together. But stick with me throughout these episodes because it's going to be more information, new information as we go along that will help you build that bond with your baby and be prepared for this journey that you're going to have, that you're on, because this is a journey. Trust me, this is not a short, this is no short trip. This is a journey. So that's what I'm here for. I'm here to help you. So, once again, thank you, and welcome back to Instructions Not Included.

Claude Bates:

Dad today's episode is all about connecting with your little one before they even arrive. Yeah, you can start building that bond, that special bond, in a special way, before the first diaper change, and that's basically by just making yourself present, being there. Ok, the power of prenatal bonding. and this is that power. Let's face it, Dads, sometimes we get a bad rap when it comes to pregnancy. We might feel a little left out during those early months at times, right, but the truth is there's tons of ways, I mean tons of ways that you can connect with your baby before birth, and here's a few ideas that I'm going to give you now. You probably heard some of this prior, but if this is your first time joining me and instruction's not included, then great, here comes some good tips.

Claude Bates:

Number one tip number one talk to your baby. Now, it might sound silly, but trust me, that little one can hear your voice, so you can talk about your day, you can sing lullabies, you could tell them a story. I just recommend you talk to them because, remember, you know you ever had that. You know your mom says wait till I tell your dad, or yeah, I'm going to tell you that. No matter how it comes across from mom, it's something about dad and that voice when you hear dad coming. If he's around the corner and you hear him coming, it's like you hear dad's voice that it could be a little startling. It's something about dads they don't play like a fat kid at recess. That wasn't funny, okay. Tip number two another good thing is to read together.

Claude Bates:

Snuggle up with your partner, read books about pregnancy, parenting, even children's stories. You can pick out your favorite book if you like, but reading is a great way to bond as well. Another thing play music. I said this before in the previous episode first trimester, second trimester and third trimester I talked about this bonding experience, especially during the second and third trimester. Playing music is a great way to bond.

Claude Bates:

Studies show that playing music, your baby does respond. When playing music, you know your baby may be in the womb dancing, could be singing, could be smiling, could be, you know, doing whatever but they do. The babies do respond when listening to music. So create a playlist. You can create a playlist of some calming melodies or some upbeat tunes. You know it's up to you, but let your baby listen and I can tell you I did it with my kids, but to this day my kids don't listen to none of the music I listen to. They listen to their own thing and I'm cool with that.

Claude Bates:

Well, I'm not going to say none of the music I listen to is when I'm driving. I throw on whatever I want to listen to, and it could be a book or it could be some. You know some of my old school jams, some music. But when I hear them listening to their music, totally different and a big shout out to Billie Eilish for some reason, my daughter definitely listens to her a good bit, which could be a little dark at times, but I still like you, Billie. You still got some pretty good music. I had to check you out, especially after the, I think it was the Wednesday movie or something. One of your songs was in, but anyway, I think I got that right. Well, my kids love listening to whatever they listen to.

Claude Bates:

But I'm going to tell you right now bond with your baby while your baby's still in the womb, create your own playlist, do what you feel is best for your baby, but just know that they are listening. And all of those activities don't get me wrong all of those activities, those are fantastic. Those are great ways to bond, which it's amazing to see your little one you know to be able to bond, to see them dancing, and all of that is even better. So, yeah, I would always recommend (Sweetface baby) 3D/4D ultrasound. I mean, that's what we come in at here at Sweet face Scans.

Claude Bates:

We offer those 3D/4D ultrasound. So that experience goes way beyond a simple medical scan. These ultrasounds create a three-dimensional image of your baby which allow you to see their facial features, the movements, even when they yawn, when they stretch. You see babies sticking out the tongue, flipping the middle finger. They're doing all kinds of stuff throwing up peace signs, all kinds of stuff. Man, if you don't know much about it, you can check out our website.

Claude Bates:

But there's a few key benefits for building that bond, pre-birth bond. There's a few key benefits. So first is that visualization. Just seeing your baby as a real little person you know, can make you feel more connected. It could make you feel more invested in their wellbeing. Just seeing them, just.

Claude Bates:

I know that first glimpse that I had when they were, when they were developing. I remember getting that ultrasound from the doctor's office and it was just just a little peanut, little baby moving around, a little black and white picture. But nowadays the technology is off the chain. You can get 8K pictures, hyper-realistic pictures, and this shows all of just what your baby could possibly look like through the technology thats available. AI creates a more detailed picture of what your child could look like, and I'll tell you some of those pictures. Once the baby is born is almost identical. It's a wonderful experience for both the parents and family members that you can share that with. So attending a 3D/ 4D ultrasound with your partner allows the magic, allows that magic to happen, for y'all to share that magic together and strengthen your bond as an expectant parent. Now I'm not saying you need to rush out and schedule a 3D/ 4D ultrasound tomorrow, but if you are interested in learning more about this incredible technology and how it can enhance your pregnancy journey, head over to the Sweetf ace Scans website. Claude Bates:

Building a bond with your baby before birth is all about finding ways to connect. Remember your voice, your touch, your love are all your little one needs to feel that special connection. Here's a quick quote the bond that connects mother and child is the thickest cord in all 3D/4D. Khalil Gibran, muhammad. So thank you for that quote. Before we get out of here, I just want to tell you keep talking, keep singing, keep reading and maybe consider that 3D40 ultrasound to truly see the miracle growing inside your partner. Okay, definitely do those things.

Claude Bates:

And before I end this session, as always, I like to ask three questions to the dads. So questions for the dads. Question number one Did you experience any unique challenges in bonding with your baby before birth? Share your tips. Question number two have you considered getting a 3D40 ultrasound? Why or why not? Please share. And question number three what creative ways have you connected with your baby before birth? That's my three questions. We're going to talk about some things that we hadn't talked about yet on this next episode, which is episode three Daddy Duty, essential pregnancy appointments for partners, what to expect, what questions to ask. So I want to thank y'all for joining me. Please like and subscribe. I hope to see y'all in the next one. It doesn't come with a manual. Yeah, you can search. I swear back now Like Jay-Z the blueprint. I am I now. That's why we say I and I. There's a unity thing, no, i-nity, we are all one, smooth like body.
